One family from Skopje, in around 2000 year, went to a trip with a car to Ohrid. On the road, they were so close to crash with another car and to suffer all.
– We avoided a big accident. Pray for it to the Lord. We will enter in some church to light candles, to thank the Savior! – said the driver.
When they came to “St. Erasmus” monastery it was already late, it was dark. However, they stopped, assuming that the church might have been opened. And indeed. The gate was open, the doors of the churches open as well, but there was no one there. They lit candles, thanked God and the saint, left some money and went to Ohrid. However, they felt strange because they didn’t see anyone and they thought that the burning candles can do some harm.
The next morning, early, the driver went to see if everything is fine. The doors were closed. After waiting some time, here comes the church clerk. When he told the women why he had come, she said surprisingly:
– Last night I was the last one here. I closed all the doors. Here are the keys with me. There are no other keys …
The man from Skopje stubbornly proved their late-night visit, the open doors, the things they left… When they entered, they found everything that was left in the same spot they left it, the candles were more than half burned and self-extinguished, and in one voice the church clerk and the man, crossing themselves, said:
– Saint Erasmus, you are really a wonderworker!
