One eye doctor from Bitola, Dr. A.H., told us the following unusual case:
– There was brought to me one day a blind Turk from Ohrid. As a was examining him, his eyes were open, his appearance was healthy, but he couldn’t see anything.
When I asked him how he got blinded, he told me how once he and his friends were passing by the St. Erasmus near Ohrid. As he watched the Christian holiness of the place, he took out his gun and fired at the church. His gun came out of his hand, and he was left without sight.
He suspected that it was from the gunpowder, but he didn’t feel any pain, neither from outside nor from inside, only his sight was completely lost. And his eyes remained healthy, but without sight. As if someone had spread his mysterious hand and had taken his ability to see.
Then the same doctor told us how he healed and he healed the person in different ways, but he could not cure him. This Turk is now alive and – blind.
