In a visit to the monastery “St. Erasmus” came one Turk from Ohrid. The church clerk woman told him:
– Can you send me workman to paint this room?
– I’ll sent you one Turk. He is a Muslim, but he is God worshipper, he is just poor, so please give him some money.
The workman came, and he seamlessly finished the job.
– How much money does your work cost? – He was asked.
– It costs nothing, it’s from me.
– How can it be without money? You are a poor man. God’s law says that one of the deadly sins is not giving the worker’s daily allowance.
– I do not ask for money, but, if you want, can you ask the saint to do me some good. I have two daughters. One has 28 and the other 32 years old. They are good looking, they are hard-working, but they are not lucky because we are poor.
– Your request, if it’s up to me, it will be fulfilled. If you don’t take the money, let me give you a towel from St. Erasmus.
The man with awe kept the towel and placed it in a prominent place in his house. Soon his two daughters married abroad. Since then, in his house, everything went well, and the Turk has regularly visited “St. Erasmus”.
In one of his visit, he said:
– I keep the towel in a prominent place. It brought me happiness. Saint Erasmus is a wonderworker.
