As an Orthodox Christian, I believe and I am baptized in our sacred faith. Whenever I pass by a temple or an Orthodox symbol, I am crossing myself.

Before 7-8, if not more, years, with my car, me, my wife, my grandson with his wife and their little daughter, we headed for Skopje for a doctor’s appointment for the little girl. As soon as we started the road at about 9 o’clock, it started to rain heavy rain. When we came to “St. Erasmus” I’ve crossed myself for a good trip. We arrived happily in Skopje.

After the final examination of the daughter of my grandson in the hospital and the completion of some obligations in Skopje, after 3 hours, we headed for Ohrid, but the rain still doesn’t stop.

When we returned to the monastery “St. Erasmus, “I again crossed myself with gratitude to St. Erasmus that guarded us along the road. But, out of tiredness and rush because of some obligations, instead of saying

Golden Saint Erasmus and golden Saint Catherine, thank you for keeping us on the road and thanks for everything that happily went with the little girl, I said …

“Golden Saint Petka …”

Then on the left side of the road, a woman appeared in white, as a bride, and with both hands on the windshield throw frozen hail rain. I was frightened, I’ve moved the steering wheel left and right.

Nichola, we are before “St. Erasmus” and “St. Ekaterina “, and not before “St. Petka”! – said the wife, who was sitting on the front seat.

After that I immediately corrected myself:

Golden Saint Erasmus, golden Saint Ekaterina, forgive me for the spoken mistake!

Everyone in the car done that and we calmly continued the road. This incident has upset us all and frightened us.

The next day, feeling guilty and obligated for the mistake I’ve made in naming the saint, we have visited the monastery “St. Erasmus “.

We lighted candles and asked for forgiveness from Saint Erasmus and Saint Catherine for the mistake, and we’ve prayed for health and good life. And suddenly I felt a lightness in my soul, as I started to breathe easier.

After the new asphalt road was made through the property of “St. Erasmus” we often heard for some accidents, although the road is straight. In one car accident with a Mercedes, I was also a witness.
Therefore, I recommend:

Next to the “St. Erasmus” monastery please don’t drive at high speed, but slowly and with a prayer to the Wonderworker for a good and happy trip! – said mister Nikola Tuleski on June 21, 2016.
